Adam is a bright, funny, and adventurous five-year-old with a heart full of love and curiosity. After showing signs of delayed development and some developmental regression following his first birthday, Adam was diagnosed with Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder at two and a half years old.
About a year and a half ago, we learned that Adam is a Gestalt Language Processor — meaning he learns and uses language in chunks and phrases rather than word by word. Since beginning specialized Gestalt Language Communication Therapy, his ability to express himself has absolutely blossomed. Over the past year, his communication skills have taken off, and with that, his personality shines even more brightly every day.
Adam is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and always ready to make someone smile. He loves playing with his little sister, enjoys his big and loving family, and approaches every child he meets with a pure and open heart — calling each one “my friend.”
Our hope for Adam is that one day, the world will see things the way he does — where everyone he meets truly is a friend, and kindness is the norm.
